Modi denied US Visa

While everyone seems to have a opinion on the Modi Visa denial issue, my primary concern is the US interference in India's internal affair. No country in the world would dare comment on the happenings in other countries as US does. Agreed some Nazi leaders in Europe have been denied Visa before. Also agreed that issuing a visa or not is their prerogative. But why should US do this to a country with which it supposedly wants good relations. Are we reduced to a Banana republic whose sentiments US doesn't care about? By not visiting US, Modi is not going to lose anything! Infact he may even gain much needed political space. But the real victim of this uncalled for action by the US is the goodwill between the two countries. India may not take this up any further, but their seems to be pattern emerging of US mistreatment of India. While US leaders do adequate lip service reiterating the importance they place to relations with India, they simultaneously drag our feet at every given opportunity. Long back they snubbed our offer to help in the Afghan war and propped up Musharaff. That might have been a necessacity for them alright! Some time back Collin Powell humiliated us by keeping us in the dark about the impending declaration of Pakistan as a Major Non Nato US ally. He was in India just before visiting Pakistan to make that announcement, but did not have the courtesy to inform us. MEA was left high and dry while reacting to that announcement. Recently US walked out of the Kyoto protocol citing that China and India weren't forced to do much on environment. US and European union together fight a bitter battle with India and the rest of the G20 in the WTO negotiations. US was shameless enough to put preconditions on India giving up too much space in the WTO negotiations in return for favorable terms in the NSSP agreed between US and India. US continues to put enough pressure to isolate India on the Nuclear arena particularly with the Nuclear supplier's group in order to deny us much needed nuclear fuel. They questioned India's proliferation record by claiming involvement of two Indian scientists in the Iran nuclear program. This when they have coolly let off A Q Khan in Pakistan!!! Year after year US makes adverse comments about the Human rights situation in India. They are still finding excuses to sell F16's to Pakistan and are even ready to sell them to India with no guarantee of spare parts!! Now the US wants India to drop the Iran gas pipeline! Well!.... all this do not convey a feeling of friendship to me. How about you?
