Congrats! Lockheed Martin! But only by half!!

I haven't blogged for a couple of weeks now. In between I had been on a memorable trip to Grand Canyon, Humphrey's Peak and Sedona. Things continue to happen back home in Indian diplomacy. If you haven't heard already US wants to make India a world power!!!! F16 to both India and Pakistan!! Howz that for a marketing strategy considering Lockheed Martin was complaining about lack of orders for F16s. Anyway I have written enough on F16 and stuff recently. There are only two points that come to my mind. World should take note of US mollycoddling a general whose country is the world's biggest nuclear proliferator!! Second despite the "disappointment" India should engage US for cooperation in nuclear and space sectors besides taking NSSP further. Beware India is in a not so rosy position with respect to Nuclear fuel. Any attempt to secure nuclear fuel is welcome. India should now push US to facilitate repositioning of India vis-a-vis the Nulcear Supplier Group and the Proliferation Security Initiative. If you are wondering about F16s, frankly F16 or F18 doesn't fit into the IAF picture and I dont expect India to buy them. I think Mirage 2000-5 or Sukhoi will be selected considering long term Indian plans for a Sukhoi and Tejas backbone. Again Congrats! Lockheed Martin! But only by half!!
