Kudos to Kalam!

When Sonia Gandhi enacted her 'Second Sacrifice' drama in the aftermath of the office of profit ordinance debacle, I had written this about Kalam. "Abdul Kalam has already forwarded the complaints against Sonia and others to the Election Commission. Few days from now, the government passes an ordinance and sends it to Kalam. Will he sign it and send the EC on a wild goose chase? You first ask the EC to see if this person has violated a law and follow it with an ordinance to nullify whatever the EC decides! That would be a serious insult to a constitutional authority. Is Kalam capable of such demeanor? We may never get to know."

By returning the Office of profit bill yesterday to both houses of parliament, he has answered my question in a befitting manner. Kudos to him! The Sardar government is very likely to have this bill sent back again and force his hand, but Kalam has done very well to redeem himself from the lows of his Bihar bungling!

Kalam really IS an inspiring guy. I amire all that he has done for the country though I still think he could have been more pro-active as a prime-minister. His response to the huge reservation controversy has been disappointing. Even then, my admiration for the man's committment, dedication and patriotism will never decrease.

Kalam rocks and hope to see him doing a lot more in the future.

"I still think he could have been more pro-active as a prime-minister. "

Do you mean he could have been more proactive had he been the Prime Minister or was that a typo?

'been more pro-active as a president'
Sorry, my brain must have been in second gear when I typed that.

Actually, even the sentence you interpreted would be true.
