Life without Danger is a waste of Oxygen!

yep! You read it right. And hence the guy who refused to go boating here went whitewater rafting last weekend! It was simply out of the world!

Five hours sleep in three days in hot and sultry Tennessee. For friends from undergrad years, some of whom I met for the first time after school. Rafting at the Ocoee river, the venue for the rafting competition during the Atlanta Olympics. A short, strenuous and 'not for the faint hearted' hike to the Chimney Tops in the Smokies. Life is bliss!

Find pics below. My expectations from such trips have consistently improved over the past few months. Guess I should now try other cool stuff like Scuba diving, Para-Jumping, Mountaineering, bungee Jumping etc. But for now, I'm trying to sell, to my friends, an offer which I initially thought they could never refuse. Alaska for Labor day. Ciao!!!

Itinerary:

Friday Evening: Flew to Nashville. Stay at friend's place.

Saturday: Drove to Ocoee river rafting place close to Chattanooga on the Tennessee/Georgia border. A super human named Brett as guide on rapids which include two level 5 grades. Stay at Ramada, Pigeon Forge, TN.

Sunday: Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Newfound Gap, Clingmans Dome and the incredible Chimney Tops trail (just 4 miles round trip). Oh, for heavens sake don't chicken out and skip the rock climb to see the view at the end. Read the title of this post!

moral of the story=
activites(ok, other than hiking) are the most important and fun part of the trip.
corollary=
seeing buildings or the city from a high bldg or "exploring" the city(watever that means) are the boring parts.

hmm...although I agree that visiting cities is pretty boring, I find looking over the city from the air/buildings/hills to be the only saving grace in such trips.

Your life is a waste of precious Oxygen anyways. Thank the God that he do not bill you for that. Oh! I forgot. You are an Aethist. Ha Ha Ha. Well, thank who so ever you want for not getting the bill for Oxygen that you are wasting.

that 5th pic is for people like you. its a vaishnavaite tradition to worship the feet of the God. Look beyond the feet and see the beauty in mother nature to understand the real 'God'. the universe is far too complex to be explained by inane theories of the theists.

Don't stomp on mother nature. It might bring you back luck. So say those superstitious people. Some are ready to rub their ar** against the bark of a lucky tree to see if they can work out a number to win the lottery. Your picture of feet against the awesome background made me giggle to think of that superstition. As for me, I am the most skeptical about such matters.
Interesting pictures. A long comment..i better stop :)
